Community Arts Project Launch
Following the launch of the Community Arts Project in Thornton-Cleveleys the programme is proving hugely popular and there is already a waiting ist to get in! Classes are held on Tuesday night 5.30pm - 8.30pm at the Thornton Little Theatre, and subjects range from singing, rapping and MC-ing, to dancing and drama.
The free 16-week programme is funded by local councils in an effort to reduce anti-social behavior and culminates in a recognised award subject to completing the course. The project is aimed at ages 11-18 years and the course is split into 3 specialisms; Acting, Singing and Dance. Students can choose to focus on one area of interest or touch upon all three.
Dance requires concentration, teamwork and
self-confidence from the students
Throughout the duration of the course all students will be working towards a Qualifications and Cirriculum Authority (QCA) recognised qualification called the "Young People's Arts Award". This provides an opportunity to gain a recognised qualification in a rewarding subject and generate personal development outside of a formal education setting.
The wide range of subjects make
this an enjoyable course
